This is a portrait of Lori Tan Chinn in the TV show “Awkwafina is Nora From Queens.” Chinn portrayed a grandmother who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind especially when defending their own. This reminded me of matriarchal figures in my own life and is a testament to the strength of our elders.
