My commissioned performance art piece “What Remains” will explore the impact of war and how we live on by accepting the past, rejecting singular narratives and trying better in the future, even joyfully. I will share a fictional story about grief, fear and how we live on. Although not autobiographical, the questions and emotions are rooted in my Vietnamese American experience through the use of poetry, photos, animation, dance and drag to Thao’s Temple album.
