“Biking” expresses the joy of biking as an alternative form of transportation. The painting portrays an idyllic bike ride on a rail-trail. There are also references to the railroad history of rail-trails with the trestle bridge and images linked to the construction of the railroads by Chinese workers. The cat figure also refers to my clay sculpture series.
